For educators, learners and guardians in Malaysia

Find a skill. Offer a skill.

SkillPort is one app for private teaching in Malaysia. Learners and parents find a teacher, then follow every class, progress note and payment in the same place. Educators run the whole practice from it — classes, attendance, fees and LHDN e-Invoice.

Free during early access · iOS and Android

SkillPort's Today screen on a phone: the next class and what to do next

The first thing the app says

Welcome to SkillPort. Tell me whether you're here to teach or to learn, and I'll set up the right thing.

  • I'm here to teach
  • I'm here to learn
  • My child is learning

One app, three roles

Three roles. One app. One login.

An educator, a learner, and the guardian who pays for one — and a single person can be all three at once. SkillPort shows each role only what belongs to it, checked on our servers on every request.

01

Educator

Run the practice, not the paperwork.

Classes, attendance, students, fees and collection — set up once, then handled from the Today screen.

  • The next class and the attendance still to mark, first thing
  • Who hasn't paid, without opening a spreadsheet
  • e-Invoice readiness the day you need it
02

Learner

Your classes, your record, your pace.

Today's lesson, the ones ahead, what each one covered and what is owed — without asking anyone.

  • The schedule, updated by the educator's own calendar
  • Remarks from every lesson, kept in one place
  • Fees and receipts you can check any time
03

Guardian

See what happened. Pay without chasing.

Every child, every class, every lesson's remarks and every invoice, on the phone that is already in your hand.

  • Attendance and remarks the moment they are recorded
  • Pay a fee and send the slip from the same screen
  • Only your children's records — never anyone else's

Marketplace

Find a skill. Or offer one.

Educators list what they teach and the places they teach it. Learners and parents search by skill and place — a town name, or just a postcode. Three rules that search runs under:

  1. 01

Ask by skill or by place, either first

Say what you want to learn, or say where — whichever you already know. Answer one and the app offers only what the other can actually reach, each option showing how many educators are behind it.

  2. 02

Paying puts a listing up, not at the top

Results sort by rating, by number of reviews, or by newest — never by what an educator paid. There is no price sort either: fees are the educator’s own words, not a number we set.

  3. 03

Only people who took the class can review

A rating can be written only by a learner or guardian who was actually enrolled with that educator, and it carries their name. The educator can answer it in public.

Search is the last part of SkillPort we open, and that is deliberate. Matching people before the classes, records and payments around them are ready would make a bad first experience, and a bad first experience is expensive to undo.

What SkillPort provides

We don't sell the lessons. We run the system around them.

SkillPort does not set prices, take a cut of fees, or employ educators. We provide the software the trade runs on, and that is what we earn from. Four things:

  1. 01

    The admin OS

Courses, classes, students, the calendar, attendance. What an educator actually runs a practice on, built for a phone rather than a back office.

  2. 02

    The student record

What was taught, who was there, and the educator's remarks after each lesson. The thing a guardian wants and a WhatsApp group cannot give them.

  3. 03

    Secure, seamless payment

Invoices, payments and bank-in slips in one trail. A learner or guardian sends the slip; the educator verifies it; both sides see the same ledger.

  4. 04

Records neither side has to take on faith

The attendance, the remark and the receipt are written once and read by everyone entitled to them. Nobody has to trust the other person's memory.

How it feels

Anticipation, not filing.

Most admin apps are filing cabinets with a search box. SkillPort reads what it holds, works out what matters to you today, and brings that up first. Everything else is one tap away.

  1. 1

    Today

The screen opens with the answer already on it: the next class, the attendance still to mark, the families to remind. A quiet day looks quiet.

  2. 2

    One Stop Center

No tab bar. One button opens the complete index of the app — calendar, students, courses, fees, messages, insight — and closes back into Today.

The One Stop Center index open over the Today screen
The month calendar, with only the days that have a class marked

Trust & safety

Safety is the product.

One unsafe trade costs more than a hundred good ones earn. These are the rules the app is built around, not features on a roadmap.

  • Each side sees only its own

An educator sees their practice. A learner sees their own classes. A guardian sees their linked children, never the other family's child and never their own records under another hat. Enforced on our servers, on every request.

  • Consent is recorded, not assumed

Every account records the version of the Terms accepted and when. Continuing to use the app is never how we obtain consent.

  • Under-18 learners, by design

School-age students are who many educators teach. A learner account is held by an adult, or by a student whose parent or guardian agreed on their behalf. We collect no date of birth.

  • Passkeys and codes, no passwords

Sign in with Face ID, a fingerprint or a six-digit code sent to your email. There is no password to leak, reuse or forget.

  • A clean money trail

Invoice, payment, slip and receipt are one record, read by both sides. Duplicate slips and reused reference numbers are checked; nobody is accused by software.

  • PDPA, with a named officer

Personal data is processed under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. A parent or guardian can reach our Data Protection Officer about their child directly, without the educator's permission.

LHDN e-Invoice

e-Invoice ready, without the scare tactics.

Most solo educators are not required to issue e-Invoices today: as of LHDN's e-Invoice Guideline version 4.7 of 7 July 2026, taxpayers with annual turnover under RM1 million are exempt, and no later phase covering smaller businesses has been published. SkillPort submits to MyInvois natively, so crossing that line one day costs you nothing — and a parent or corporate sponsor who asks for an e-Invoice can have one now.

Questions

Quick answers

What is SkillPort?

SkillPort is one mobile app for educators, learners and guardians in Malaysia. An educator runs their teaching practice on it — classes, attendance, students, fees, invoices and e-Invoice submission. A learner follows their classes and record. A guardian sees their children's schedule, remarks and invoices and pays from the same screen.

Who is SkillPort for?

Educators running their own practice — tutors for SPM, UPSR, IGCSE and A-Levels, music, art, language, coding, sport and dance teachers — and the learners and parents who buy from them. A centre with several educators or branches should talk to us first.

How do I find an educator on SkillPort?

Tell the app what you want to learn and where — a town name or your postcode — and it lists the educators who teach that there or online, with their ratings and reviews. You can message one before enrolling. Ranking is by rating, review count or recency: an educator can pay to run an ad, but not to move up your results.

What does it cost an educator to be listed?

Publishing a public profile costs nothing, and the plan every new educator starts on includes one live ad. Running further ads alongside it uses ad credits. SkillPort is free during early access and we do not publish pricing yet — message us and we will tell you plainly where it stands.

How much does SkillPort cost?

SkillPort is free during early access and we do not publish pricing yet. Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you plainly where it stands.

Can a student under 18 use SkillPort?

Yes, by design. Educator and guardian accounts are for adults. A learner account may be held by someone 18 or over, or by a student under 18 whose parent or legal guardian has read and agreed to the Terms on their behalf. We do not collect a date of birth and do not verify age; we record the consent given at sign-up.

Do I have to issue e-Invoices as a solo educator?

Usually not yet. Under LHDN's e-Invoice Guideline v4.7 (7 July 2026), taxpayers with annual turnover below RM1 million are exempt and no later phase for smaller businesses has been published. SkillPort submits to MyInvois natively, so you are ready if you grow past the threshold or a sponsor asks for an e-Invoice.

Which languages does the app support?

English, Bahasa Malaysia and Simplified Chinese (中文). The app follows your phone's language; the website is published in all three.

I run a tuition centre with several teachers. Does SkillPort fit?

SkillPort is built for one educator running their own practice. If you run a centre with multiple educators or branches, contact us and we will talk through what fits rather than force it.

Offer a skill. Or find one.

SkillPort is in early access. Tell us whether you teach, you're learning, or you're paying for someone who is — and we'll get you in.
