Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what SkillPort, operated by Apply IT Sdn. Bhd. ("we," "us," or "our"), stores on your device when you visit skillport.my, and how that relates to the mobile app. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What This Website Sets
skillport.my sets no cookies of its own, and nothing that tracks you loads until you agree to it. On your first visit we ask whether you accept the Meta Pixel, an advertising-measurement tool described in Section 3; if you decline, or do not answer, it never loads. Your language is chosen by the address you visit (/, /ms or /zh), so no preference needs to be stored to remember it.
2. Strictly Necessary Storage
We keep your answer to that question in your browser's local storage, under the name skillport-cookie-consent, so that we do not ask again on every page. It holds only your choice, the version of the question you answered and when you answered it. It does not identify you, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else.
3. The Meta Pixel — Only If You Accept
If you select Accept, the website loads the Meta Pixel, a script provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., the company behind Facebook and Instagram. We use it to measure our own advertising and to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited and in which language, how far down a page you scroll, how long you spend on a page while you are using it, whether this is your first visit or a return visit, and which buttons and links you tap — for example a WhatsApp or email link, an app-store badge, a menu link or a question in an FAQ.
We never include your name, email address, phone number or anything you type in what we send. With each event Meta receives the page, the action, and the technical details that come with any web request, such as your IP address and browser. Meta may connect this to a Facebook or Instagram account you hold, and uses it under its own policies, including to show you ads for SkillPort.

Meta's use of this information is governed by its Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Your Facebook and Instagram settings also let you manage how Meta uses activity from other websites.
4. Your Choice, and Changing It
The Meta Pixel stays off until you select Accept. Selecting Decline, or continuing to browse without answering, is not consent, and nothing loads.
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings, at the foot of every page. If you withdraw your consent, we stop sending events straight away, delete the _fbp and _fbc cookies and the skillport-visit record from your browser, and do not load the pixel again unless you accept. Cookies that Meta sets on its own domains can only be removed through your browser or Meta's settings.
If you are under 18, please ask your parent or guardian before you accept. A parent or guardian can change the choice in the same way, and can write to us about their child's data at any time — see Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
5. The Mobile Application
The SkillPort app does not use browser cookies. It stores your session token and preferences in the secure storage provided by your device's operating system (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore). That data is covered by our Privacy Policy.
6. Third-Party Sign-In
When you sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook, that provider may set its own cookies under its own cookie policy. We do not control cookies set by third parties.
7. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can also control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block cookies from particular sites
- Block all cookies
- Delete all cookies when you close the browser
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation or our practices. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. If we add another analytics or advertising service, or use the Meta Pixel for a new purpose, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent again before the change takes effect.
